Terms of use

1. Who can use MindBuff

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms with you.

2. What MindBuff is, and isn't

MindBuff is a puzzle and trivia game made for fun and practice. It is not a medical, psychological or educational service, and we make no promise that playing it will improve memory, intelligence or any other ability, or prevent or treat any condition. Levels, ratings and rankings measure how you do in the game, nothing more.

3. AI-written content

Questions, hints, the daily riddle and some answer checks are generated by an AI model. They can contain mistakes, and an answer may be marked right or wrong when it shouldn't be. Don't rely on MindBuff content for decisions that matter, such as medical, legal, financial or safety questions. If something looks wrong or inappropriate, use "Report" in the app.

4. Free play and MindBuff Pro

MindBuff is free to play. Free players always get the daily riddle, their streak, one workout a day, reviews of past mistakes, duels and the league. MindBuff Pro is an optional subscription that adds unlimited workouts. The plans, prices and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.

• Payment. Apple or Google charges your store account when you confirm, or when the free trial ends if your plan has one.
• Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Renewals are charged in the 24 hours before.
• Free trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged. If notifications are on, the app reminds you two days before the first charge.
• Cancelling. Cancel at any time from Settings in MindBuff (Manage subscription) or in your App Store or Google Play account. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app doesn't cancel the subscription.
• Refunds. Apple and Google handle refunds under their own policies. This doesn't limit any right to cancel or get a refund that consumer law where you live gives you.
• Price changes. If the price changes, Apple or Google tells you in advance as their rules require, and you can cancel before it applies.
• Restoring. Use Restore purchases in the app on a new phone signed in to the same store account.

5. Playing fair

When you use MindBuff, including duels, please don't:

• pick a duel name that is offensive, hateful, sexual, or pretends to be someone else;
• cheat, use bots or scripts, or exploit bugs to change scores or rankings;
• harass other players, or try to find out who they are;
• attack, overload, reverse-engineer or scrape the service, or get around its limits.

We may change a duel name, reset ratings, or limit or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.

6. What you type

Your answers and reports stay yours. You allow us to process them only to run the game, as described in the privacy policy.

7. Our app

The MindBuff name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own, non-commercial play. If you downloaded MindBuff from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

8. Changes to MindBuff

We keep improving the game, so features may change, be added or be removed. We may also pause or stop the service. If we stop MindBuff for good, we'll try to give notice in the app first.

9. No warranty

MindBuff is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be error-free, always available, or that content will be accurate.

10. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost progress or data. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for MindBuff in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

11. Ending

You can stop using MindBuff at any time and erase your data with "Delete my data" in Settings. If we end your access for breaking these terms, the sections on our app, warranty and liability still apply.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have jurisdiction. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to sort it out first.

• If you live in the EU, the UK or another country with its own consumer laws, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
• If you live in the United States, nothing in these terms limits rights you have under your state's consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.

13. Updates to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply.
