Delete your MindBuff data

You can play MindBuff without an account. Everything we keep is linked to a random anonymous id made by the app on your device, and, if you signed in with Google or Apple, to your account. You can erase all of it yourself, or ask us to.

In the app (fastest)

  1. Open MindBuff and tap the gear in the top corner to open Settings.
  2. Scroll down and tap Delete my data (or Delete account and data if you're signed in).
  3. Confirm with Delete everything (or Delete account).

It takes effect straight away. If you're offline, nothing is deleted and the app tells you to try again.

By email

No longer have the app? Email us and include your anonymous id if you have it (it's shown in the app under Settings, then Privacy policy). If you don't have it, tell us your duel name and roughly when you last played, and we'll find it. If you signed in, the email of your account is enough. We delete within 30 days and reply to confirm.

What gets deleted

  • Your skill ratings for the leaderboard
  • Your duel name, duel rating, duels and answers in them
  • Your weekly league entries
  • Whether you solved each day's riddle
  • Reports you sent about questions or players
  • Your progress on the device: XP, levels, streaks, riddles and settings
  • If you signed in: your account (email and name) and the progress saved in it

Nothing about your id is kept afterwards. Rate-limit counters keyed by IP address aren't linked to your id and are deleted automatically within two days. Crash reports carry no name, account, id or answers, and Sentry deletes them automatically after a short retention period.

Anonymous usage stats, if you turned them on, use a separate random id that isn't linked to yours, so they can't be traced back to you. You can stop them at any time in Settings, under Anonymous usage stats.

If you subscribed to Pro

Deleting your data doesn't cancel a subscription: cancel it first in Settings (Manage subscription) or in your App Store or Google Play account. Your purchase history stays with Apple or Google under their policies. To also delete the subscription record RevenueCat keeps for your anonymous id, email us and we'll remove it within 30 days.

Leaving the waitlist

If you joined the launch waitlist on this website, email us from that address and we'll remove it within 30 days.
